Saving costs, saving the world!

Monday, April 6th, 2009

As an accountant I cannot help but be interested in saving costs (although there are times when the cost benefit of spending money has to be acknowledged too!). What is even better is when saving money is not only of benefit to the company, or individual, but to the local environment and community as well. Some time ago I came across this excellent e-leaflet – take a look and see if it sparks any new ideas.

If you have extra ideas that are worth sharing then of course I am interested in them too. Just email me at cb@a-count-a-bility.co.uk

Getting in the right person for the job

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

In these changing times it is increasingly important that a business owner fully understands the numbers that are driving their business and takes control of them. And yet, more than ever, the business owner needs to be focussed on securing future sales, maintaining an efficient operation and delivering the best customer service. It’s unlikely that one person has enough time to do it all. A flexible outsourced finance manager might be just the thing needed to relieve some of the stress.

As Spring arrives there is plenty to do in the garden – some of it is fun and some of it is just plain hard work. I personally love mowing and hate weeding but I know others for whom the reverse is true. If either are left then the garden can get out of control so time has to be found for both, however reluctantly.

There will always be only 24 hours in a day and we need to use this limited resource to do the essentials but leave time for the fun and if that involves getting others to help then so be it.
